Our listing rulesHow We Choose Listings
What it takes to appear on Seattle Cleaning, how we order companies, and how paid upgrades are shown.
What a company needs
- Its own website that describes the service we list it for. We do not list companies from third-party profiles alone.
- A Seattle-area service area stated on that website. A company appears on a city page only if its site names that city; a general “Greater Seattle” mention places it under Seattle only.
- A real local business. Franchise locations qualify when they have their own local page.
What we leave out
- Marketplaces, booking apps and services that resell leads to other companies.
- National call centers without a local location page.
- Companies whose website is down or does not confirm the service or area.
What we record
Name, phone, base city, services in the company’s own words, the cities it names, and any price it publishes, with a link to the page where it was published. We do not copy star ratings or review counts, because they change daily and are easy to check on Google.
How companies are ordered
Free listings on service pages are ordered by a fixed rule: companies based in Seattle first, then by how many directory cities they serve, then alphabetically. Nobody can pay to move up among free listings.
Paid upgrades
Enhanced listings add a logo, photos and a description. A City Spotlight is a featured block at the top of one city page. Both are labeled on the page, and both must meet the same listing rules as free listings.
Quote requests
When someone requests quotes, we pass the request to up to 3 listed companies that offer that service in their area. We do not sell requests to companies outside the directory.
Corrections and removals
If something is wrong, or you own a listed business and want it changed or removed, email [email protected] or use the listing form. We usually fix errors within a few business days.
